Planning and Design Manager

Reporting to the Vice President for Planning and Design, the Planning and Design Manager will be responsible for managing a variety of projects related to the ongoing advocacy, planning, design, and construction of the High Line and associated facilities, in all phases of development. The Planning and Design Manager will also be responsible for coordinating with representatives of the Parks Department and other City agencies, and for collaborating with Friends of the High Line staff in other departments, including fundraising and High Line horticulture and operations staff.

Visitor Services Manager

The Visitor Services Manager will take a lead role in expanding FHL’s existing Visitor Services resources as well as creating and implementing new forms of outreach and support for High Line patrons. Reporting to both the Director of Horticulture & Operations, the primary objective of the Visitor Services Manager will be to ensure the highest level of visitor safety, enjoyment, and experience on the High Line.

Weekend Supervisor

The Weekend Supervisor will serve as point person for staff, volunteers, and High Line personnel during periods of increased visitation on the High Line from Thursdays through Sundays. The primary objective of the Weekend Supervisor will be to support initiatives in crowd control, programming, membership, operations, concessions, and volunteerism through the direct supervision and coordination of all High Line personnel reporting to work on the weekends.

Manager of High Line Concessions

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Concessions Manager is responsible for all aspects of planning for and executing food concessions and event rentals on the High Line, including the development of an overall vision, strategy, and business plan, with a focus on sustainability, affordability, and nutrition. Potential concessions strategies will include an FHL-managed concession as well as management by outside vendors.

Manager of Park Maintenance

The Manager of Park Maintenance is a critical member of FHL's Park Operations team. Under the supervision of FHL's Director of Horticulture & Park Operations, the Manager of Park Maintenance will take the lead role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the High Line's unique systems and infrastructural elements, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and security functions. The Manager of Park Maintenance will work interactively with a team of maintainers, custodians, and horticulturists as well as FHL administration.

Deputy Director of Communications and Marketing

The Deputy Director of Communications and Marketing is responsible for developing and maintaining the organizational brand; managing the production of all external materials and publications; developing and pitching story ideas; and serving as organizational and project spokesperson to the media and the public. The Deputy Director reports to the Co-Founder and oversees staff in the Communications department.

Grant Writer

The Grant Writer is primarily responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, and will persuasively communicate FHL's mission and programs to potential funders. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Development, the Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research, and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.
