Communications Assistant

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Assistant is responsible for assisting with FHL’s media relations, external communications, and new media campaigns. The Assistant must be comfortable interacting with members of the media, and should be able to communicate in an articulate manner both orally and in writing.

Horticulture Intern

The High Line Horticulture Intern is an integral part of FHL’s Park Operations team. Under the general supervision of FHL’s Director of Horticulture, the Horticulture Intern plays an important role in maintaining the High Line and plantings during the spring and summer seasons. This position is for someone looking to build on their education in the field of horticulture by gaining hands-on work experience alongside talented professionals at an innovative and dynamic garden landscape. The Horticulture Intern is a seasonal position that works from mid-April through mid-August 2014 (some adjust to the work period will be considered).

Maintenance Electrician

The Maintenance Electrician is a critical member of FHL’s Facilities Planning & Management team. Under the general supervision of Manager of Engineering Services and the specific supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician will take the lead role in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the High Line’s and High Line Headquarters’ lighting and electrical systems. The individual must also be willing to perform maintenance tasks for the High Line’s unique infrastructure as part of a team.

Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is a full-time, year-round employee of Friends of the High Line. Reporting to the Director of Facilities Planning & Management, the Manager plays in a leading role in managing the physical and logistical administration necessary for the daily operation of Friends of the High Line at the High Line’s newly-constructed operations headquarters, a 4-story, 20,000sf, LEED silver-certified building which houses FHL’s administrative and operations offices, public community spaces, a restaurant tenant, and a wide range of High Line operational functions, including locker rooms, storage rooms, horticulture and maintenance workshop spaces, and kitchen.

Retail Buyer

The Retail Buyer will play a key role in shaping the growth of this program. Partnering with Retail Manager and reporting to the Director of Food & Revenue, the Retail Buyer will guide and develop a strong point of view for FHL’s product strategy and positioning, establish and implement a production and development calendar, plan and order products against that calendar, ensure product inventory is well-maintained and refreshed, and oversee the growth of our e-commerce site in partnership with a web producer.

Retail Manager
