Director of Public Programs, Education, and Community Engagement
The Director of Public Programs, Education, and Community Engagement is responsible for cultivating a vibrant community around the High Line through envisioning, producing, and evaluating unique and memorable public events, activities, and multi-faceted initiatives. Programs seek to engage with diverse groups of neighborhood and wider New York City residents to build a connection with the High Line in unique, creative, and enduring ways. This position is a key member of the Executive team of Friends of the High Line, and is responsible for overseeing the Adult, Kids, Education, Teen, Volunteer, Community Engagement, and other programs both on and off the High Line. Reporting to the Director are four full-time employees and one seasonal, part-time employee who, in turn, manage two part-time educators, two seasonal family program leaders, over twenty teen staff, and a team of event production staff.

Communications Intern
Friends of the High Line is looking for a creative, hard-working intern to support communications initiatives, including social media, email marketing, and digital projects. This paid internship requires a minimum of 15 hours/week and a commitment of 4 months.

Data Entry Assistant
The Data Entry Assistant reports to the Development Projects Manager and the Director of Finance. He or she will support the work of the Development and Finance departments by helping to input and maintain accurate constituent and donation records.

Horticulture Intern
Under the general supervision of FHL’s Vice President of Horticulture & Park Operations and the Manager of Horticulture, the Horticulture Intern plays an important role in maintaining the High Line and plantings during the spring and summer seasons.

Special Events Crew
The Special Event Crew members will be part-time, seasonal employees of Friends of the High Line, and an integral part of FHL’s Food & Revenue team. This is an on-call position, often with overnight hours. Work is dependent upon event schedule, with approximately 9-36 work hours per month. Reporting to the Special Event Captain, the crew is responsible for the on-site execution of special events on the High Line.
