Campers can become horticulturists, designers, curators, park designers, and historians while exploring the High Line.
Friends of the High Line is launching day trips for camp and community youth groups this summer! Campers will learn about the unique design, horticulture, and art on the High Line. They'll also be able to design their own park using our Children's Workyard Kit, a mobile crate of building materials designed to help kids chart their own course of play on the High Line using custom-designed wood planks, wheels, ropes, gears, and pulleys. We invite you to request a trip led by trained educators via our online booking system. If you have any questions during the booking process please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Field trips are 75-minutes long, and cover all aspects of the park in a fun, hands-on experience.
Day trips are available for up to 30 campers per time slot, with one chaperone required for every ten children. Your group will be divided into two groups once you meet your educators. Please help us by dividing up your group in advance by age.
One day trip for 30 campers is $140. Chaperones are included in this cost. Financial assistance is available for groups in need. Please contact Becky Houran at email@example.com for more information.
Day trips for summer camps are conducted Monday through Friday, at 10 AM, 11 AM, and 11:45 AM. Each trip is 75 minutes long.
