Then and now! We're finally witnessing the fruits (flowers) of our labor. These beautiful pictures of an early Spring blooming shrub with fragrant flowers taken by Sierra Bainbridge at Field Operations are just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting Spring on the High Line. A short history of horticulture on the High Line:

September 8th, 2008: Planting on the High Line!

August 12th, 2008: Revisiting a funky idea called Agri-tecture.

July 28th, 2008: Subsoil delivery

April 1st, 2008: Work continues; Soil for Section 1 to Arrive in Early April!

Congratulations to all who worked so hard to make the High Line a possibility. I visited Chelsea Market last year and went on a walking tour hosted by Bob at Verve. I took lots of pics, including the High Line. At the time I didn't realize it was a work in progress until this morning, when I saw it mentioned on the Weather Channel. I love this area of NYC.
