Park Update: Crews have cleared the High Line's paths, and the park is open to the public between Gansevoort and 30th Streets. We are working to open the remainder of the park as soon as possible. Please check back or follow @highlinenyc on Twitter for updates.

Everything Must Go!

Artist Kim Beck, who is currently developing an artwork to go on the High Line, has a great installation in Chelsea that reflects our economically troubled times.  "Everything Must Go!" presents the all-too-familiar sight of clearance and going-out-of-business signs.  Casual passersby might not realize they are viewing artwork, unless they stop to question why no business is named, or look closely enough to notice that these "signs" are in fact handmade drawings.  This installation remains in two stories of windows at the art gallery Mixed Greens through December 23.  A reception for the artist will take place at the gallery this Thursday November 12 from 6 to 8PM.
