Put on your favorite summer outfit and stop by the park next week. The High Line – what Bill Cunningham has called the “most extraordinary fashion promenade you can imagine” – is being transformed into a virtual runway in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Project Runway and the upcoming debut of its new season on Lifetime television.
Beginning Monday, July 16, you’ll get your chance to make it work for Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors, and Nina Garcia, the show’s fashionable and discerning judges and mentor. Giant digital screens installed along a portion of the High Line’s Chelsea Market Passage will feature interactive digitized images of the judges and fashion photographers, who will react in real time as park visitors strut their stuff while walking along the elevated park.
The “Make it Work Moments” installation will be available on the High Line from Monday, July 16 to Thursday, July 19. The virtual runway will be open in the Chelsea Market Passage Monday, July 16, 1:30 – 9:00 PM, Tuesday, July 17, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, and Wednesday, July 18 and Thursday July 19, 12:00 – 10:00 PM. The new season of Project Runway premieres on Lifetime beginning Thursday, July 19 at 9:00 PM.
We are pleased to be partnering with Lifetime to present this special opportunity to the park’s visitors. Friends of the High Line works hard to raise funding from private donors to support more than 90% of the park’s annual operating budget. Sponsored public events like this one support the ongoing maintenance of the High Line, helping us keep the park clean and welcoming all year long.
