Vote Now: Choose the Film to Launch Our Free Summer Movie Series

We surveyed community members living near the High Line last year, and many teens expressed interest in attending film screenings at the park. So this year, we’ve recruited local teens to help us curate and coordinate an entire series of free summer movies.

The series is called High Line Teen Picks, and it begins on Thursday, August 2 with an audience choice. Follow us after the jump to help us decide which movie – Step Up or The Notebook – should kick off the series.

High Line Teen Picks will transform the 14th Street Passage into an outdoor community movie theater for three Thursdays in August, thanks to support from AT&T. Bring your friends and family and spend a beautiful summer night relaxing on the High Line while watching movies picked by local teens.

As they set out to curate the film series, the teens took inspiration from the against-all-odds history of the High Line, choosing films featuring characters who struggle to overcome obstacles and realize their dreams.

High Line Teen Picks begins on Thursday, August 2 with an audience choice. Help us decide between Step Up (2007) or The Notebook (2004).
