The High Line takes on a different personality in the colder months of the year. In this beautiful photo by High Line Photographer Phil Vachon, the golden tones of Korean feather reed grass complement the rusty hues of Marianne Vitale’s High Line Commission, Common Crossings.
All of the artworks that are part of the group exhibition Archeo – including Common Crossings – have been on view for the past 10 months. Over this time period, plants have grown up around – and even intertwined themselves on – the sculptures. Other artworks have weathered from the sun, rain, and wind exposure. The experience of each sculpture has changed over time, and while the High Line’s summer staples of food and programs will have to wait for warmer weather, you can enjoy High Line Art year-round.
