Spring Cutback 2015 Wraps in Record Time!

Despite a late start this year, we are finishing Cutback 2015 in record time. The gardening staff is attending to a few last cuts and snips, but thanks to our dedicated and hard-working volunteers, this year was a breeze. We collected more than 65 cubic yards of debris from the 110,000 perennials and grasses that were cut back.

We'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this year's Cutback, especially our generous sponsors, Toyota and REI. And a special thanks to the volunteers from The Coca-Cola Company, Google, Related Companies, and TD Bank.

Friends of the High Line administrative staff got their hands dirty during Inside Out Day. It was a wonderful opportunity for those who work behind the scenes to experience the hard work (and fun!) involved in maintaining the park. Photo by Rowa Lee.

Because of the heavy snow and winds this past winter, nature did a lot of the "cutting back" for us. This year, we had the task of doing a lot more raking of the broken grasses and debris that Mother Nature left behind. Photos by Rowa Lee.
