Photo of the Week: Spring Sunset

"Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn." – Ralph Waldo Emerson

It's difficult not to feel inspired and awed at sunset. And as we creep closer to the summer solstice, the last light of the day lingers ever so longer. We love this recent photo by High Line Photographer Steven Severinghaus of a sunset, seen from the High Line at West 13th Street. The warm light sets the plantings aglow, making the threadleaf bluestar (in the foreground) especially enticing,

With each day, the park is getting greener and more lush, and the promise of summer is palatable. Enjoy a taste of summer sunshine and the outdoor summer activities you've been missing this weekend at the High Line. Check out the art and the plants. Indulge in some empanadas, tacos, or sweet treats. Take some photos (and make sure to tag @highlinenyc!). Recline, relax, and spend time with friends.

See what's new at the High Line on our Visit page. We hope to see you soon!
