Neighborhood bar launches program benefitting Friends of the High Line

Danny's Meyer's new West Chelsea cocktail bar, Porchlight, recently launched its first "Summer Sundays 'til Sundown" program, which includes seasonal expansion of daytime service to Sundays, when New Yorkers and visitors alike flock to the High Line. Summer Sundays features signature dishes and seasonal cocktails, including the 28th and Tonic, a High Line-inspired vodka and tonic made with elderberries. Elderberries are among the numerous edible plantings that can be found along the 1.5-mile length of the High Line.

As part of Porchlight's commitment to the neighborhood, five percent of Summer Sundays sales will be donated to Friends of the High Line to help care for the park's landscape and offset the demands of increased visitation – more than 60,000 visitors on the park's busiest days, and 6.22 million annually.

We encourage neighborhood residents and High Line visitors alike to stop by Porchlight for the Summer Sundays program to enjoy a refreshing cocktail or a delicious bite to eat, all in support of the High Line.

The Summer Sundays program will extend through Sunday, September 6 from noon until sunset. Porchlight is located at 271 Eleventh Avenue, at the corner of 28th Street. The nearest High Line entrance is located on 28th Street, just west of 10th Avenue.
