“Keep it Wild. Keep it Simple. Keep it Slow. Keep it Quiet.”

The High Line’s design philosophy translates like a yogic sutra. With this inspiration, we will initiate, celebrate and experience the urban oasis that is The High Line, in an elevated and uplifting yoga class.

The class will be lead by Nikki Costello. Nikki first moved to New York City to attend New York University, and in the early 90’s, she discovered yoga in the East Village and went on to become a graduate of one of the first teacher trainings at the Jivamukti Yoga Center. At that time, the objective was to spread yoga to New Yorkers by teaching classes in gyms, schools and any place of learning that would open their doors to the practice and ideas of Yoga. After several years, Nikki traveled around the world, taught and studied in India, and expanded her knowledge of yoga, eastern philosophy and the practice of meditation.

Upon returning to New York City, Nikki continued her training and became a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher at Institute of Iyengar Yoga in Chelsea; just steps from The High Line. Today, she continues to teach yoga throughout the city at Equinox, Virayoga and in private practice.

A long time supporter and Friend of The High Line, Nikki is honored to be part of this landmark series of classes and in the spirit of sharing the teachings, invites the community to come together for this historic event.
