Learn to Step! Part of the Step to the High Line Festival

After seeing school and professional Step teams perform, stick around to learn your own Step moves—stomping, clapping, and more, in sync. Icy Blue from Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx will show the audience a brief routine and break it down step by step, and the workshop will culminate in the group practicing together. No experience required!

Step is form of creative expression that celebrates the power and energy of youth through synchronized stomping, clapping, calling, and other corporal sounds. New York City students of all ages will transform the High Line into their stage as part of a week-long stepping festival. Check out each performances throughout the week:
