Summer Benefit 2010
PARTY ON THE HIGH LINE and SUMMER DINNER
The High Line is a free public park that has welcomed more than two million visitors from New York and around the world since it opened one year ago. As the non-profit conservancy that maintains and operates the park under an agreement with the City of New York, Friends of the High Line is responsible for raising the essential private funds that support more than 70% of the High Line's annual operating budget.
On Monday, June 21, 2010, Friends of the High Line hosted the Party on the High Line and Summer Dinner, our most important fundraising event of the year, which raises the majority of the annual operating funds for the park. The Party on the High Line and Summer Dinner honored Donald R. Mullen, Jr. and The Tiffany & Co. Foundation for their generous support of the High Line.
Friends of the High Line extends a special thank you to everyone who attended this event and gave generously to support the maintenance and operations of the High Line. View photos from the event.
Donald R. Mullen, Jr.
Celebrate High Line Art as we honor its founding supporter, Donald R. Mullen, Jr. High Line Art commissions new and innovative artwork for the High Line, introducing contemporary artists to a wide audience and providing park visitors with a unique and enriching experience. With a vision of public art as an essential part of the High Line, Don made it possible for Friends of the High Line to hire a dedicated art curator, and he laid the foundation for an ongoing series of installations. We are endlessly grateful for Don's foresight and generous contributions to High Line Art, a program that is transforming the cultural landscape of New York City.
The Tiffany & Co. Foundation
We are proud to honor The Tiffany & Co. Foundation as it celebrates its 10th Anniversary. With a generous capital campaign gift, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation helped build the Chelsea Grasslands — an iconic feature of the park that was inspired by the wild landscape of the original High Line. Because the Foundation recognizes the important role that urban parks play in our cities, it stepped forward with a major, multi-year gift toward sustaining the High Line's long-term maintenance and operations, as well as support to the endowment. We are pleased to show our appreciation for The Tiffany & Co. Foundation’s leadership at our most important event of the year.
