Friends of the High Line today debuted Developing Tray #2, a new artwork by Anne Collier on HIGH LINE BILLBOARD at West 18th Street. The image depicts a developing tray containing a print of a wide open eye – the artist’s eye – submerged in photographic developing fluid.

The artwork will remain on view until Wednesday, February 29. Learn more.

February 5: Family Feather Flurry on the High Line

Kids are invited to join us on Sunday, February 5 for a winter scavenger hunt on the High Line, followed by puppet-making and story time at Posman Books in Chelsea Market.

Become a bird for a day and explore how feathered friends hunker down for winter in New York City.

Now on View: HIGH LINE CHANNEL Featuring Jennifer West

Join us tonight for the kick off of the second installment of HIGH LINE CHANNEL, featuring daily screenings of Selected Recent Works by experimental filmmaker Jennifer West. West works with “direct film,” or film realized without the use of a camera. She exposes the film strip to a variety of substances, such as coffee, mascara, and habanero sauce, or by staging interactive events where people perform actions to the film strip, like snowboarding or skateboarding directly on it. The results are vibrant, abstract short films. Learn more

Selected Recent Works will be on view daily from dusk to 10:00 PM through Monday, March 5. The films are viewable from the Seating Steps on the High Line during normal operating hours, and also from the sidewalk along West 22nd Street below the park.

Major Milestone for the High Line at the Rail Yards

Earlier today, we took a major step toward building the final section of the High Line.

The City of New York has launched the public review process for a zoning text amendment that will permanently secure the High Line at the rail yards, including the Spur, as public open space.

Last Chance to View Gordon Matta-Clark on HIGH LINE CHANNEL

Tuesday, January 24 is final day to check out the screening of Gordon Matta-Clark’s City Slivers on the High Line. The silent film has been looping on HIGH LINE CHANNEL since November, and tomorrow it will be de-installed to make way for a new art film.

HIGH LINE CHANNEL is on view daily from dusk to 10:00 PM. The film is viewable during normal operating hours from the Seating Steps on the High Line, and also from the sidewalk below along West 22nd Street.

Reminder: Proposals Due for High Line Food Stands

Friends of the High Line is seeking proposals for innovative, sustainable, and affordable food on the High Line in 2012. There are three opportunities for savory food stands in the Chelsea Market Passage, and one opportunity to operate The Porch, an area with more than 50 seats and sweeping views of the Hudson River.

Proposals are due by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1. Download the Request for Proposals.

Friends of the High Line is also seeking an operator to run a new full-service, year-round restaurant to open directly below the High Line at Gansevoort and Washington Streets in October, 2013. Proposals for the restaurant are due on Thursday, March 15.

Last Chance to See Kim Beck’s Rooftop Sculptures along the High Line

For almost a year, Kim Beck’s skeletal sculptures, reminiscent of empty billboard frames, have been installed on three rooftops next to the southern end of the High Line. Now as the exhibit, Space Available, is drawing to a close, we’d like to invite you out one more time to enjoy her work before the sculptures are taken down next week.

Thank You for Sharing Your Input on the High Line at the Rail Yards

More than 200 people came to the High Line at the Rail Yards Community Input Meeting on December 6, 2011 to share ideas for the design of the High Line's final section, and many others have responded via email, Facebook, and Twitter with thoughts.

Stay Updated on High Line Conditions during Inclement Weather

The High Line is now one mile in length, connecting three neighborhoods along the west side of Manhattan.

During snow and ice storms, portions of the High Line, or the entire High Line, may experience delayed openings, early closures, or complete closures throughout the day to ensure visitor safety and to enable staff to clear the park’s pathways. Learn more about our process for clearing snow and ice.

High Line Holiday Hours

Now on View: Silent Films on HIGH LINE CHANNEL

Gordon Matta-Clark’s City Slivers is now playing on HIGH LINE CHANNEL.

HIGH LINE CHANNEL features daily screenings of silent art films and videos projected onto a building wall next to the High Line at West 22nd Street. Screenings, which are viewable from both the High Line and West 22nd Street, begin at dusk and run on a loop until 10:00 PM.
