Building Bee Homes
The High Line has recently launched exciting new horticulture initiatives, including a plan to install “bee hotels” along the park. Bee hotels are structures that provide habitats for solitary bees (yes, not all bees prefer the hive life), ladybugs, and wasps. Thus, these humble respites encourage pollinators into your gardens—cultivating a vibrant, more sustainable ecosystem. Enjoy a short video with two of our staff members who are building simple homes for these important creatures, and learn how you can make your own bee hotels with a few simple materials.
