Volunteers have always played a critical role in Friends of the High Line's public programs, horticulture, administrative tasks and helping to raise the funds necessary to maintain the High Line.
Applications will be accepted at all times, but please note that there are a limited number of volunteer opportunities available. If no positions are available, you will be placed on a wait-list after your application is received. All applicants will be contacted regarding the status of their application.

HIGH LINE SNOW VOLUNTEERS
It's all hands on deck when snow arrives in New York City. You’re invited to join Friends of the High Line staff members to clear snow from the High Line’s pathway, making the park safe for visitors to enjoy the unique winter landscape.
Grab a shovel and join our team effort to open the park following winter storms.
HIGH LINE GREEN-UP SPRING CUTBACK
The new year kicks off the High Line’s fourth growing season, and the High Line Gardeners are getting ready for High Line Green-Up Spring Cutback, the annual preparation of the planting beds for spring. Cutting back last season’s perennials and grasses to make way for new growth is a lot of work. This year's High Line Green-Up Spring Cutback begins March 5, and Friends of the High Line is bringing in a dedicated group of volunteers to help with this tremendous task. Read more.
HIGH LINE GREETER PROGRAM
One of our most exciting volunteer opportunities is the High Line Greeter Program. Greeters are a group of committed volunteers who engage park visitors, answer questions, and provide information during busy periods on the High Line. Greeters are based at a mobile information cart known as the Field Station, which contains High Line pamphlets, activities for kids, self-guides, story books, and information about becoming a member of Friends of the High Line.
