Due to anticipated weather associated with Hurricane Irene, the High Line will be closed on Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28, 2011. All public programs planned at the High Line this weekend are cancelled. The Lot, The Lot on Tap, and the High Line Rink will close at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2011 to allow crews to prepare the site for the inclement weather, and remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Hurricane Irene is expected to hit New York City Saturday night, and it has the potential to make parks and open spaces unsafe during and after the storm. Mayor Bloomberg has advised, “Because of the high winds that will accompany the storm, we are urging all New Yorkers for their own safety to stay out of parks where the high winds will increase the danger of downed trees and limbs."

We anticipate re-opening of the park, The Lot, The Lot on Tap, and the High Line Rink on Monday. Please check back for updates or follow @highlinenyc on Twitter.
