The High Line is one mile in length, connecting three neighborhoods along the west side of Manhattan.

During snow and ice storms, portions of the High Line, or the entire High Line, may experience delayed openings, early closures, or complete closures to ensure visitor safety and to enable staff to clear the park’s pathways. Learn more about our process for clearing snow and ice.

Please visit the Park Information page or follow @highlinenyc on Twitter to stay up-to-date on delayed openings and park closures during inclement weather.

Join us on Saturday, December 21, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM for the Gaits: A High Line Soundwalk. The Gaits is a free, downloadable smartphone application that features a score of electric guitar chords, gongs, and other instruments. As participants walk, footsteps are turned into instrumental sounds as they move through a series of composed spaces along the High Line.

To participate, download the free application to your smartphone and meet us below the High Line at Gansevoort and Washington Streets promptly at 5:00 PM. We'll also have a limited supply of free, wearable speakers attendees may borrow. See our event listing for details.

The High Line is open all winter long. Until spring returns, our hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day.

Download our new High Line Art map, winter self-guide, and December bloom list. Don't let the relative sparseness of the bloom list fool you – our gardens almost become more interesting in the wintertime. In keeping with the vision of High Line planting designer Piet Oudolf, our plants are not cut back until the spring, creating a rich variety of textures.
