Join us for a night of summer salsa on Wednesday, August 27.

At our third ¡Arriba! event of the summer, groove to the sounds of Nu D’Lux, one of the city’s most original Cuban-style bands. Inspired by the guajiro musical rhythms, the group offers a funky mix of son montuno, rumba, danzon, and timba styles. Cool off with icy treats from our food vendors, or make a night of it with a meal from The Taco Truck, Smokeline, or Terroir at The Porch, where you can also sip a refreshing glass of wine or craft beer.

And from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, Terroir will also be setting up a "satellite" bar right next to ¡Arriba! The cash-only bar will offer beer, wine, and bottled water. In addition, Brooklyn Soda Works will be offering its carbonated fresh juices and sodas right in the 14th Street Passage.

The newest product to hit the High Line Shop is a replica model kit of a Brooklyn water tower, produced and manufactured locally by Boundless Brooklyn. David Shulman and Terence Arjo, the brain trust behind the company, were attracted to the local iconography of the towers. The kit materials are 100% recyclable and 100% DIY – you can build and customize the tower any way you like. Models can be assembled in minutes and will fit perfectly on a desk, shelf, or end table.

This item will only be sold at the High Line Shop cart in the Chelsea Market Passage, at West 16th Street. The shop is open from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM each day. You can also find a variety of other great gifts – including apparel, accessories, books, and posters – in the High Line web shop.

We’re pleased to inform you that the 23rd Street elevator has reopened to the public as of June 27.

During Hurricane Sandy, salt water from the Hudson River surged to 10th Avenue, completely flooding the underground vault below the High Line that powers the elevator. The extensive damage caused by the salt water necessitated a full rebuild of the elevator’s systems. The elevator’s new, upgraded systems will bring improved and more reliable service to the public.

The elevator’s reconstruction process was a top priority for Friends of the High Line and the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, and Friends of the High Line will continue to monitor the elevator’s to address any further performance issues as quickly as possible.

We are grateful for your support, assistance, guidance, and patience through the elevator’s reconstruction.

Due to anticipated crowds near the High Line for NYC Pride, the park will close at 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, in cooperation with the New York City Police Department and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation.

Regular park hours will resume on Monday, June 30.
