MONDAY, DECEMBER 3: RAIL YARDS ARCHITECTS PRESENTATIONS AT COOPER UNION FREE
See the five rail yards proposals presented by members of each developer's design team. Representatives from the teams will speak about the architecture and urban design of their proposals. Presentations will be followed by Q&A.

This event will most likely be the public's only chance to hear the proposals presented by the architects working on them. It will also be a great opportunity to hear from some of the leading architects working in New York right now.

Architects working on rail yards proposals include Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Field Operations, Thomas Phifer & Partners, ShoP Architects, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, SANAA, Handel Architects (for Brookfield Properties); Steven Holl Architects (for Extell); Robert A.M. Stern, Kohn Pederson Fox, Arquitectonica (for The Related Companies); FXFowle and Pelli Clarke Pelli (for Vornado Realty Trust/Durst Organization); and Helmut Jahn and Peter Walker (for Tishman Speyer).

This event is co-sponsored by American Institute of Architects New York Chapter; American Planning Association New York Chapter; American Society of Landscape Architects New York Chapter; Architectural League of New York; Design Trust for Public Space; Fine Arts Federation; Friends of the High Line; Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art; Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance; Municipal Art Society; New York New Visions; and the Regional Plan Association.

Friends of the High Line wants to hear your feedback on the five developer proposals for the rail yards. Last night, more than 200 High Line supporters viewed the proposal exhibition near Grand Central, and submitted comments to the MTA. The exhibition has been extended until December 14, and we encourage you to go see it if you have not yet done so.
