Lais Myrrha

Split Plinth

Lais Myrrha (b. 1974, Belo Horizonte, Brazil; lives in São Paulo, Brazil)

Split Plinth is composed of fifty modules that together correspond to the volume of three plinths stacked on top of the High Line Plinth. Powder coated in the oxidized green color of the Statue of Liberty, Split Plinth questions the singularity of public memory by proposing a monumentality arising not from an icon but from a multiplicity. After the exhibition, the modules will be donated to different communities.

Support

Major support for the High Line Plinth is provided by members of the High Line Plinth Committee and contemporary art leaders committed to realizing major commissions and engaging in the public success of the Plinth. Learn more about the High Line Plinth Committee.
