The High Line is in great shape despite the high winds and heavy rains brought by Hurricane Irene. In the Gansevoort Woodland and planting beds near the 14th Street Passage, several small saplings that were recently planted were uprooted by the winds, but the majority of the park's plants and all of the utilities and architectural features are intact.
The High Line will remain closed on Sunday, August 28, 2011 to allow crews to continue to assess the park for damage. We anticipate a delayed opening on Monday, August 29, 2011 to allow crews to clear loose debris and restore the park to a safe and welcoming condition. Please check back, or follow the High Line on Facebook or Twitter for updates on the opening of the park, The Lot on Tap, and the High Line Rink.
