West works with “direct film,” or film realized without the use of a camera. She exposes the film strip to a variety of substances, such as coffee, mascara, and habanero sauce, or by staging interactive events where people perform actions to the film strip, like snowboarding or skateboarding directly on it. Selected Recent Works will be on view daily from dusk to 10:00 PM through Monday, March 5. The films are viewable from the Seating Steps on the High Line during normal operating hours, and also from the sidewalk along West 22nd Street below the park.
