High Line Food [1]
Grab a morning coffee, stop by for a late afternoon snack, enjoy a cold drink after work, or savor an outdoor meal. The High Line’s food vendors are open daily on the High between Little West 12th and West 18th Streets. All food vendors are open between Friday, April 19 and Friday, October 18. Hours vary by vendor.
This year’s food vendors include Blue Bottle Coffee, Delaney Barbecue’s SmokeLine, La Newyorkina, L’Arte del Gelato, Melt Bakery, People’s Pops, Sigmund’s Pretzels, and The Taco Truck, as well as Terroir at The Porch, an open-air, full-service café with wine, beer, and small plates.

Paul Grieco, winner of the 2012 James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine, Beer, or Spirits Professional, and chef Marco Canora's popular wine bar, Terroir, will once again operate a seasonal location at The Porch, the open-air café on the High Line. Enjoy sweeping views of the Hudson River while sipping cold, refreshing drinks from Terroir’s wine and beer list, which highlights artisanal wineries and breweries from New York State. Featuring products by local farmers and producers, the menu includes a selection of panini and salads, including a veal and ricotta meatball sub.

Returning to the High Line, where it opened its first Manhattan location in 2011, Blue Bottle Coffee offers delicious, single-origin drip coffees, a full espresso bar, whole beans, and house-made pastries. Blue Bottle roasts its coffee, bakes its sweets, and mixes its granola at its kitchen in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and serves every drink to order on the High Line. For their hot chocolates and mochas, Blue Bottle uses Brooklyn-based Nunu Chocolates and milk from Battenkill Valley Creamery in Salem, New York.

SmokeLine is bringing meat back to the Meatpacking District! Dan Delaney, owner of BrisketTown and crowned “2013 Brisket King of New York” saddles up to the High Line with his latest barbecue outpost and his first Manhattan location. The menu is fun and accessible for New Yorkers and visitors alike, with oak-smoked brisket, pulled pork sandwiches, lamb ribs, and classic vegetarian sides made with fresh vegetables from regional farms. This season marks the first time fresh cuts of meat are back at the High Line since 1980, when the last freight train traveled the elevated railway, carrying three carloads of turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Founded eight years ago by Francesco Realmuto, an Italian eager to bring authentic gelato to New York, L’Arte del Gelato returns to the High Line for its third season to serve artisanal gelati and sorbetti made with locally-sourced organic milk, ripe local peaches and berries, and an array of the finest ingredients imported from Italy and around the world. Their offerings include classics, like Stracciatella, and innovative twists, like Extra Virgin Olive Oil, all made in small batches, fresco ogni giorno, or fresh everyday!

Returning to the High Line for its third season, La Newyorkina makes artisanal frozen treats inspired by the chef’s native Mexico. Using fresh fruits, milk, and honey from local farms, as well as tropical ingredients like organic cane sugar and Mexican chocolate, La Newyorkina’s ice pop flavors include roasted plum, yogurt with berry swirl, avocado, coconut, lime and chili, mango, and tamarind.

Named by Time Out New York as a Food Market “Rising Star,” Melt Bakery is an innovative ice cream sandwich company that was founded on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Melt’s flavors are seasonal, its business is sustainable, its ingredients are locally-sourced, and its chefs are passionate about making ice cream sandwiches. Melt Bakery returns to the High Line with favorite recipes that include “Lovelet,” Red Velvet Meltcakes with Cream Cheese Ice Cream, and “Crackly Thick Mint” with chocolate cookies with Peppermint Ice Cream.

Using only the best, locally-grown fruits, People’s Pops returns to the High Line with its delicious handmade ice pops and shave ice made to order from a 100-pound block of ice. A staple of spring and summer in New York City, People's Pops re-imagines everyone’s favorite treats, with a menu that changes daily based on the best fruits available from our local farmers. Their seasonal menu includes fruit from farms from Southern New Jersey to the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York, including Red Jacket Orchards, Van Houten Farms, Philips Farms, and Maxwell Farms.

Sold on city streets since the 1800s, pretzels are a traditional snack for New Yorkers on the go. As one of the park’s new food vendors in 2013, Sigmund’s Pretzels celebrates this time-honored street food while adding new twists: its menu features classic salted pretzels and adventurous flavors, like truffle cheddar, feta olive, and bacon scallion. Sigmund’s bakes in small batches, resulting in soft, chewy pretzels with dark mahogany crusts.

Selected as one of the “Six Best Snacks on the High Line” by the Village Voice, The Taco Truck brings authentic Mexican street food to park visitors. The three central principles that guide The Taco Truck in every aspect of their business are authenticity, sustainability, and community. The Taco Truck offers a selection of menu favorites including: Michoacan Carnitas Tacos, Pollo Asado Tortas, Chilaquiles, and La Unica Salad. In 2012, The Taco Truck served more than 42,000 tacos on the High Line and plans to share even more taco love this year!
High Line Food Programs
Friends of the High Line’s food programming is inspired by the idea that food is one of our best connections to community and to the environment, and through it, we aim to connect visitors to one another and the land. We offer food-related programming for kids and families, including Play With Your Food [22], High Line Honey Day [23], and the High Line Social Soup Experiment [24].
