If you are looking for a good excuse to indulge in a nice, juicy hamburger this summer, we’ve got some great news for you. We are pleased to share that Bark, the Brooklyn-based hot dog purveyor, is sourcing organic, humanely-raised New York State beef for its menu items at the High Line.

To deliver a high-quality food at an affordable price, Bark  shortens the supply chain, and invests in a personal relationship with the farmer and the slaughterhouse. The beef for their High Line menu comes from Wrighteous Organics, a small family farm in Upstate New York. Their steer are raised humanely on a diet of organic hay and grains harvested from the property itself.
In a unique collaboration, Bark splits one to two cows per week with their friends at Dickson's Farmstand Meats in Chelsea Market. Jake, the butcher at Dickson's, takes the short loin, rib, and sirloin – the middle part of the steer where the prime cuts are located – as those are the best retail cuts for his shop. Bark takes the rest to craft their juicy burgers and beef-based chili. That means there is little waste, and a great savings in money, effort, and energy for farmer, butcher, retailers, and customers.

Stop by the High Line this week to try out their new special: the High Line Burger with bacon, cheddar, and spicy pickled jalapeño-red onion cream. Bark is open daily on the High Line from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and you can find them at the southern end of the Chelsea Market Passage, at West 15th Street.
