Photo of the Week: Winter Geometry [1]

Soft dried grasses along the High Line contrast with the hard architectural lines of a neighboring building. Photo by Herve Dulongcourty [2]

High Line Flickr Pool contributor Herve Dulongcourty [2] visited the High Line on a chilly day in November and snapped this interesting geometric perspective. It’s a nice study of how the organic textures of dried winter grasses contrast with the brick and hard lines of the architecture of surrounding buildings. While the temperatures are much chillier, winter is a great time to appreciate the structure of the High Line’s plantings and enjoy better views of park’s architecture and surrounding cityscape afforded by sparser foliage.
