HIGH LINE KIDS
Play, create, and learn on the High Line during our kids programs, which include weekly drop-in programs during the summer season and special series and events in the spring and fall.
With colorful plant life, stunning views, and site-specific art installations curated by High Line Art, the High Line holds inspiration for creative minds of all ages. Each Saturday in July and August, families are invited drop-in to explore hands-on art projects and create their own masterpieces. Ages 4+
Every Thursday morning in July and August, the 23rd Street Lawn is the place to be for kids and their caregivers to enjoy music, stories, bubbles, and blocks designed for little ones. Each week features different storytellers and musicians from New York City cultural institutions and community organizations. Ages 0-3
Explore the natural world on the High Line. Every Wednesday in July and August focuses on a different wonder: look inside a leaf, watch a butterfly fly, or hold wriggly worm in the palm of your hand. Each month culminates in a Creature Feature showcasing a special live High Line critter. Ages 4+
Play with your Food
Pick up tips and tricks with the chefs behind the High Line’s food vendors. Every Wednesday in September, kids and their caregivers are invited to learn how to make a tasty snack and enjoy it with their peers. Ages 4+
Haunted High Line Halloween
The High Line is haunted with ghost trains and spooky characters from the elevated railway’s industrial past! Haunted High Line Halloween offers a day of free community festivities in celebration of the fall season. Past activities included a costume photo booth with take home prints, face painting, pumpkin decorating, and a spooky scavenger hunt featuring characters from the High Line’s history. All Ages
High Line Children’s Workyard Kit
Drawing from the park’s industrial history and aesthetic character, this mobile crate of building materials is designed for kids to chart their own course of play on the High Line. Stop by to use custom-designed wood planks, wheels, ropes, gears, and pulleys to create your own construction. The Children’s Workyard Kid is available at every High Line Kids program for children ages 4+.
