Philip Aarons and Shelley Fox Aarons

Philip Aarons and Shelley Fox Aarons

Philip Aarons is a founding partner of Millennium Partners, a real estate development Company focused on large scale downtown mixed-use developments with significant local engagement. He is a graduate of Columbia College and Columbia Law School. Shelley Fox Aarons is a retired psychiatrist and psychopharmacologist. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and SUNY Downstate Medical School.

They are ardent supporters of artists and arts organizations and individually serve on the Boards of the New Museum, MoMA PS, Printed Matter, and others.

Philip Aarons and Shelley Fox Aarons have been involved with the High Line for over 25 years. Brought into the effort to save the High Line by one of its founders, Robert Hammond, and his college classmate and current Friends of the High Line Board chair, Mario Palumbo, in 2000, Shelley and Phil guided and financially assisted the organization as it grew from a neighborhood activist group to the steward of a world-renowned urban park.

Combining their long-standing interest in contemporary art, urban design, and social justice, Phil and Shelley helped maintain the organization’s focus on great design, artist engagement, and community involvement as the park took shape physically and became both a New York City destination and a model for urban transformation around the world.
