14th Street Passage, on the High Line at West 14th Street
Grab your friends and bring your dancing shoes –evenings of live Latin music and dancing are returning to the High Line this summer!
A contemporary of such greats as Tito Puente, Machito and Tito Rodriguez, Orlando Marin is the only Latin orchestra leader from New York's golden era of mambo still performing regularly. He formed his first band in 1951 and recorded his first album in 1954 on Fiesta Records. Since then, he has performed at esteemed national and international music venues and been the recipient of numerous awards, including Bobby Capo Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of nearly half century of dedication to Latin music. For the sixth consecutive year, this all-time-favorite is joining ¡Arriba! once more.
Friends of the High Line is pleased to partner with HAI and Hudson Guild to host some of New York City's best Latin bands on the High Line, transforming the park into an open-air dance floor at sunset.
Enjoy dinner and dessert after dancing under the stars. On the High Line between West 15th and West 16th Streets you will find tacos, gelato, ice pops, and more seasonal treats from our food vendors, as well as Terroir at The Porch, a full-service, open-air café serving beer, wine, and small plates with sweeping views of the Hudson River.
