Ashley Hans Scheirl (b. 1956, Salzburg, Austria) and Jakob Lena Knebl (b. 1970, Baden, Germany) live and work in Vienna, Austria. witches’ countertraffic features the artists dressed up as two witches from The Wizard of Oz—the good witch and the bad witch—and speaks to the dual nature of the fictional and historical figure.
