No Mountain, No River, No Valley

Leslie Hewitt (b. 1977, New York, New York; lives in New York, New York)

No Mountain, No River, No Valley reimagines the encounter where core elements meet. Representations of water, land, and air are a reminder of a different sense of time and space, set against the density of the city. This work merges fragments of the depths of the topography of the Atlantic Ocean floor with the contours of calm waters, inlets where land curves to receive the currents that have traveled long distances.
