Tarik Kiswanson (b. 1986, Halmstad, Sweden; lives in Paris, France)
Becoming continues Tarik Kiswanson’s ongoing investigation of notions related to rootlessness, regeneration, and renewal. The curving, organic shape of the fiberglass egg appears to hover in midair, while three cast bronze school chairs seem to levitate next to it. Becoming creates a perplexing situation, at once gesturing toward the floating sense of uncertainty that defines our transient times while positing rootlessness as a generative state of being.
