Park update: On September 7, the Spur and High Line Connector at 30th Street will be closed. From September 8 – 9, the Spur, High Line Connector, and Coach Passage at 30th Street will be closed.
In keeping with planting designer Piet Oudolf’s vision, High Line plants are not trimmed back at the onset of cold weather as they are in most gardens. When spring arrives, the plants must be trimmed back to make way for new growth.
During this monumental horticultural effort, called Spring Cutback, High Line gardeners work quickly to trim back the grasses and perennials that grow along our 1.5-mile-long park. Spring Cutback is our largest horticultural undertaking of the year, and we would love your help!
As a Spring Cutback volunteer you will join an enthusiastic and dedicated team, work side-by-side with High Line gardeners to shear back grasses and perennials using pruners and scissors, and help us prepare for a lush, beautiful growing season.
