High Line Tour: From Freight to Flowers

Saturday, June 3, 2023
10 – 11:30am
Location
On the High Line at Gansevoort Street

Hear the story behind New York City’s park in the sky. Join us for a free 75-minute long tour led by High Line Docents, knowledgeable volunteer guides who offer you an insider’s perspective on the park’s history, design, and landscape.

Free public tours take place on Tuesdays at 6pm, Wednesdays at 10am, and Saturdays at 10am between May and September.* In October, tours are offered on Tuesdays at 5pm, Wednesdays at 9am, and Saturdays at 10am. From November through April, the weekly tour take places on Saturdays at noon. The starting point is on the park at the Gansevoort Street entrance.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no more than ten people will be permitted on the tour, there are no reservations, and spots are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Visitors will be asked to wear a mask. An audio system will be used to allow for social distancing; guests may bring their own wired headphones or may use the ones provided by the High Line.

Tours are subject to cancellation due to weather. Check @highlinenyc on Twitter for updates prior to arriving at the park.

Support

Major support for High Line Programs is provided by The Brown Foundation, Inc. of Houston. High Line Tours and accessibility are supported, in part, with public funds from the New York City Council, under the leadership of Speaker Corey Johnson.

Donate today

The High Line is almost entirely supported by people like you. As a nonprofit, we need your support to keep this public space free—and extraordinary—for everyone.
