Tai chi—the ultimate mind and body workout, often described as “meditation in motion”—involves slow, fluid, continuous movements through formalized postures of centuries-old Chinese Taoist martial arts.
Pin Pin Su teaches tai chi in conjunction with qi gong, with the philosophy that mind, body, and spirit are all interrelated. She combines her eastern medicinal healing roots with a Western twist for an all-encompassing mind/body experience. When not in a classroom, she has private patients that come to her for one-on-one expressive therapy.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes to move around in. Water will be provided.
Tai Chi is part of our High Line Wellness programming, designed specifically with older adults in mind. Adults of any age are invited to join the High Line to learn, move, have fun, and connect with neighbors. Wellness activities, educational sessions, cultural engagements, and other events are offered on and near the park, in collaboration with local community-based organizations that serve older adults in Chelsea, in Hell’s Kitchen, and on the West Side of Manhattan.
