Visitor Health
& Safety

Your safety and that of our staff is of the utmost importance. We’re working hard to protect you in the midst of this pandemic, but we’ll need you to do your part too. The High Line has put in place a number of new protocols and processes to help ensure the health and safety of our staff and visitors—please review this information prior to your visit.

The High Line has put in place a number of new protocols and processes to help ensure the health and safety of our staff and visitors—please review this information prior to your visit.

What we ask you to do

  • On weekends, reserve a free timed-entry pass prior to your visit. All free passes are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of day-of walk-up passes will be available at the entrance. Passes are not required on weekdays.
  • Wear a mask or face covering
  • Maintain 6-foot distance between each person not in the same household
  • If you are sick, stay home
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes
  • Do not touch your face

What we’re doing

  • Introduced capacity limits for the park with a system of timed-entry reservations on weekends
  • Reduced hours of operation
  • Enhanced cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout the day
  • Increased signage reminding of the importance of handwashing, face covering, and social distancing
  • Suspended food and retail services
  • Suspended tours and public programming
  • Established daily temperature and symptom reporting for all staff before they arrive to work
  • Providing staff with free personal protective equipment

While we are committed to keeping you and our staff members healthy and safe, we cannot guarantee you won’t be exposed to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). By visiting the High Line, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Our content is based on the current recommended guidelines. As we continue to monitor the applicable regulations, we will adjust accordingly.


New York State COVID-19 Travel Advisory
New York State COVID-19 Travel Advisory requires visitors from certain states to quarantine for 14 days. If you are traveling to NYC from any of these states, visitors are required to complete the online Travel Health Form.
