Out of Line: "The Eulogy," by Shaun Leonardo | The High Line

Taking Ralph Ellison’s novel Invisible Man as a starting point, “The Eulogy” delivered a poignant commentary on police violence in the United States in the style of a New Orleans second line funeral procession. Music by the Sugartone Brass Band interweaves Leonardo’s speech, punctuating the words that serve as a memorial, a rejection, a challenge, and a call to action all at once.

Now in its second year, Out of Line presents a new set of arresting, intriguing, and playful performances by some of New York City’s most exciting contemporary artists.
