Park update: From 7am – 3:30pm on Monday, March 18 and Tuesday, March 19, the High Line will be partially closed between 23rd and 30th Streets due to construction. Visitors can enter and exit at the 23rd Street stair/elevator and the 30th/10th Street stair. The entrances from Hudson Yards, the Connector, and the Spur remain open.

Haunted High Line Halloween (Family Event)

11am – 4pm
Location
On the High Line, 14th - 16th Sts.

Travel back in time and learn the history of the High Line. Get into character with artistic face painting, capture memories with our old-time photo booth, dance, go on a scavenger hunt with candy, and watch live performances.

On the High Line between 14th St. to 16th St. | Enter at 14th St. and 10th Ave.

Please note this program takes place at two locations between 14th St. and 16th St., but only requires one RSVP.

Please be advised that due to limited capacity, RSVPing does not guarantee participation at this event. Entrance is on a first-come, first-served basis. If there’s space, RSVPing in advance will provide a faster check-in process.

COOKIE CORNER (located in the 14th St. Passage)

Head right at 14th St. to our Cookie Corner section designed especially for infants through 5 years old. Learn from the ghost, La Cocinera, how she made thousands of Oreos and Nabisco biscuits in the factories along the train tracks. Ask La Cocinera how she made all those cookies and she will give you a treat.

Cookie Factory Art Project

Design your own cookie using “dough” and add decorations. How sparkly and bright will your cookie be?

Be surprised and enchanted with a special Halloween themed magic show by Ragidy Supreme!

Live Music + Dancing

1:30 and 2:30 pm

The Bilingual Birdies will get you up and moving to Spanish songs and dances.


SECOND LOCATION (between the Diller von-Furstenberg Sundeck and Chelsea Market Passage)

These programs are appropriate for all ages from infants to 12 years old. Main entrance located at the southern end of the Diller von-Furstenberg Sundeck—just turn left at 14th St. entrance.

Ghost Tunnel

Walk through our Ghost Tunnel and help the West Side Cowboy find his horse Cyclone. This immersive tunnel features an original sound design by Mark Cobrin. If you make it through, grab a sweet!

The Deadly Soapbox

Be part of the movement! Learn from a 1930s mother and child how their civic actions made the city build the High Line. Get sweet for saving your streets!

Safe Streets Art Project

How can you make your neighborhood safer? Design your own model neighborhood with teaching artists ArchforKids.

The Meatpacker’s Saloon

Meet the Meatpacker to learn his gruesome trade. Are you strong enough of his job? Discover his work and you will be rewarded.

After your face is looking great, head over to the Bosco’s Photobooth for an old timey GIF of you and your family.

The Ice Box

From the park you can see a giant refrigerator building where the trains kept produce and dairy cold during deliveries. Experiment with ice with scientists from HypotheKids and hear the firsthand account of a refrigerator worker’s experience in this cold building. You may shiver with happiness with a sweet treat.

Creepy Crawlers

At our Mobile Garden, check out bugs and insects that will make your skin crawl—but help make the world a better place.

Karaoke/DJ set

11 am – 3 pm

Dance to Halloween tunes and belt out a few of your own at the DJ/Karaoke station from Expressway Music.

Halloween Dance Workshop

1:30 – 2 pm

Learn some new chilling moves with our Dancers in Residence The Brandon Project.

High Line Food Available for Purchase

Grab seasonal treats from High Line food vendors Melt, People’s Pops, La Newyorkina, and Terroir.
People’s Pops will offer Concord Grape, Raspberry Basil, and Apple Pie pops, as well as Apple Lime Ginger Shave Ice. Lanewyorkina will feature Oaxaca Chocolate, Day of the Dead Bread, and assorted sweets. Melt Bakery’s featured autumn ice cream sandwich will be “Jack” (molasses cookies + pumpkin ice cream).
