May is a beautiful time to visit the High Line.

The landscape is filled with fresh green growth and spring blooms. New artworks are installed throughout the park. The High Line’s food vendors are open daily, with delicious snacks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each week there are free tours, stargazing, and activities for adults and kids alike.

The High Line is one mile in length, connecting three neighborhoods along the west side of Manhattan.

During snow and ice storms, portions of the High Line, or the entire High Line, may experience delayed openings, early closures, or complete closures to ensure visitor safety and to enable staff to clear the park’s pathways. Learn more about our process for clearing snow and ice.

On Monday, July 30, we hosted a community input meeting with the High Line Design Team to present the latest designs for the third and final section of the High Line at the rail yards. More than 200 supporters joined us to share feedback and ask questions.

The City of New York has acquired the title to the third and final section of the High Line from CSX Transportation, Inc. The transfer of ownership paves the way to begin construction so that the last stretch can open to the public one day soon.

The High Line is being transformed into a virtual interactive runway in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Project Runway and the upcoming debut of its new season. The virtual runway will be open in the Chelsea Market Passage beginning Monday, July 16.
